Villanova guard Redding charged with pot possession
Villanova guard Reggie Redding was arrested early Tuesday morning on campus and charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to Radnor Township police.
Redding, 21, was released and issued a summons to appear in court.
Villanova Public Safety officers told Radnor police that a traffic sign had been struck by a car. The car was found parked in one of the dorm lots and later identified through the student database as being owned by Redding.
The Public Safety officers interviewed Redding, who subsequently removed from the car two plastic bags containing suspected marijuana and a grinding device. Field tests indicated the bags contained marijuana.
Villanova officials did not return messages last night.
Redding, from St. Joseph’s Prep, averaged 7.1 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists as the Wildcats reached the Final Four.
